Nigeria And Other Countries In The Continent Of Africa Seem To Live Under A Cloud, Walking The Tight Rope. In Nigeria, Despite the Great Natural Wealth, the Country Remains Poor and Social Development Is Limited. 70% Of The Citizenry Live On Less Than US$1 A Day. The Leadership in All Levels and Groups Are Putting Their Personal Comfort First and Letting the Under Privileged or Less Opportune Ones Go To Blazes. By This Self-Centered Psychology, the Percentage of the Poor over the Rich Class in Nigeria/Africa Has Continued To Increase MAX Weber, a German Psychologist and Economist Said, “While the Rich Get Richer, the Poor Continue To Get Children” It is often say; “Children Are the Leaders of Tomorrow” but these children are not empowered with the gargets that will enable them to face and overcome the challenges of tomorrow. And This Has Caused Unconcerned To the Sustainable Development in Nigeria However, This Is Far Away From the Egalitarian Society Dream at the Independence of Our Great Country Nigeria. The Middle Class Got Wiped Off And Because Of Mass Poverty And Low Capacity Build Up Industrial Sector Is Not Growing And This Situation Has Yielded To Mass Unemployment And Corruption And If This Present Trend Continue, The Country Is Not Likely To Meet The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) In The Year 2015 As Predicted By The International Communities. This is why Treasureland Health Builders (THB) a Non-Governmental/not for profit and voluntary Organization (NGO) trained by the World Bank and the British Council on the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and Family and Community Life Re-orientation (FACOR) has come up to equip the children through a club called CHILDREN IN DEVELOPMEN (CID) CID CLUB, (a special arm of THB), whereby children Between 5 - 14 years will be trained on self developmental issues. |
